How he asked....

On the 6 hours drive from Glide, Oregon, Avery convinced me to take a ferry from Bainbridge Island over to downtown Seattle. Driving through Bainbridge Avery had played a mix of Ben Harper songs to set a romantic mood and as naive as I am I didn't catch on. We drove on the Wanachee ferry parked and head up top. Took pictures of one another and did our famous couple shot by Avery reaching out the camera in front of us. Avery decided it was time to head down to the lower level and see if someone would take our picture for us. He had scoped out the right women for the job. Someone that would understand what he was doing and take a bunch of pictures. Not two steps away after handing her the camera she asked how to work it and at that point Avery blanked on everything he had been planning on doing and saying. I still have no idea anything other then our picture being taken was going on. After showing the women how to use the camera he points for us to stand by the rail and starts digging in his pocket. I asked what he was doing because his phone, wallet, and car keys where all in my purse. He proceeded to grab my right hand, got down on one knee, and asked " Lindsey Paige Tiller will you marry me?" I followed with "Yes, but you have my right hand." Followed by lot of tears shared between the both of us and 5 to 10 minutes of hugging and kissing. We had an audience by this time that was clapping and cheering. Along with another women who took pictures who we hope will send them to us. We called all of our parents and family on the way over to the Alexis hotel where he had surprised me with a beautiful suite with a bath tub from heaven. We ordered champaign and chocolate covered strawberries and sent out a mass text to all of our friends announcing our exciting news. We finished the night by celebrating with Avery's friends from Seattle University at the Triple Door downtown. As Avery said later that night "You call me fiance now!" June 22, 2007 best day ever, couldn't have asked for a better proposal, best vacation ever, couldn't ask for a better person to share the rest of my life with.
